Thirty six years ago Keith and Cherry Durrrant started out in business selling Keith's handmade leather goods at festivals and agricultural shows throughout the country. Over the years the business gradually evolved and ended up as the shop Metamorphosis in the centre of St Ives, Cambridgeshire, selling a fascinating, eclectic mix of crafts and artefacts from cultures around the world, in addition to Keith's leatherwork, crystals, incense, oils and jewellery.
After sixteen years trading our shop closed on April 9th 2011, but we continue to trade through our website, which was built and is run by Beth, the youngest Durrant daughter.
Over the years we have enjoyed a very special relationship with our customers. The shop somehow managed to create a sense of community and togetherness. People would come in just for a chat with us and often with other customers whom they may never have met before! We were overwhemed by the reaction when the shop closed and hope to create something similar on-line to that which people found in the shop.
